Jackie Chan cuts son Jaycee’s hair after release from jail http://bit.ly/1aimXIj

25 February 2015
The beginning of the year motivates people to move on, and it seems that Jaycee Chan, son of actor Jackie Chan, is ready to start over with his life and career after a six-month jail sentence on drug charges.
The 32-year-old posted two photos on his Sina Weibo yesterday, featuring Jackie Chan cutting his hair, with his mother looking on. It was the first micro blog item he posted after his arrest in August.
The caption attached to the photos says congxin kaishi, which literally means “start from the heart”, and also sounds the same as “start from the beginning.” The other photo features a close-up of his new haircut.

RT @STForeignDesk: Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee freed after six months in jail for drug offences http://bit.ly/17qlGOa
According to Chinese web portal NetEase, Jaycee Chan gave journalists the slip by getting into the back seat of a waiting car in the wee hours of Friday morning (Feb 13) at Dongcheng District Detention Centre.
The car was reportedly speeding and running red lights in order to dodge the media, who later attempted to stop the car at a toll booth. It was reported that some journalists suffered minor injuries when the driver sped off.

Showing clips of Jaycee in court, reporters remarked that Jaycee has been looking more handsome than before.
Jackie then said, “Then he should stay [in jail] longer, punish him some more!”
Jaycee will be released before the Lunar New Year, in time to spend the holiday with his family, but Jackie said he will not be around, as he has to work on his new film.
Jackie’s son Jaycee Chan (房祖名), who was sentenced to six months in prison for marijuana, will be released in one week.
Asked if Jackie will go to Beijing to pick up his son when the time comes, Jackie shook his head and said, “No, I won’t. I don’t even know when he’s going to be released. [The media] knows more about it than I do. I didn’t even go visit him.”
Jackie said Jaycee is a grown man and he should learn how to handle everything on his own, “I don’t want him to live in my shadows,” he said.
Asked how long it has been since he last saw Jaycee, Jackie said, “Sometimes we wouldn’t see each other for two years! Honestly, I am very relieved.
“[Prison] has matured him a lot, and I hope when he comes out, he’ll know how to face his future.
“I will not speak for him, but Joan and I will always be there to be his backup.”
As to whether a press conference will be held for his son’s release, Jackie said, “I want [Jaycee] to decide for himself.”

Father gets a Datukship from Malaysia. Son got a prison sentence from China.
Datuk Jackie Chan reveals how he is treated like in Malaysia http://bit.ly/1zT8sFU
Jackie Chan is not only proud of his “datukship”, but is pleased that he is loved by Malaysians of all races, reports Malaysia’s The Star.
“I know a lot of artistes have only Chinese fans here in Malaysia.
“But I am special – I have Indian and Malay fans, too,” he told China Press.
“When I am here, they treat me like I am a Malaysian. I like bak kut teh.
“But the most important of all, I have a lot of good friends here, so I like this place,” he said at the Subang airport before boarding a private jet after Sunday’s investiture ceremony at Istana Negara.
Chan received his award from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah in conjunction with Federal Territory Day.
The 60-year-old superstar, who believed he was the first Hong Kong artiste to receive the award, also pledged to continue contributing to society.
“I am really honoured with the award from Malaysia.
“I have done a lot of work in the country, but I have never thought of getting any reward.

Ku Nan: ‘Datuk Jackie deserves it, remember Police Story?’ http://bit.ly/1Dvk9Ad
Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan’s fan base and the fact that his blockbuster ‘Police Story’ was filmed in Kuala Lumpur earned him a datukship, Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Mansor said.
“Jackie Chan is an actor with many Malaysian fans and can promote Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur especially, so he definitely qualifies for a datukship.
“Many forget that the popular movie ‘Police Story’ which he starred in was shot in Kuala Lumpur,” Tengku Adnan said on Twitter.
Posting a photo still of the movie, the minister repeated Jackie’s vast contribution to the nation through that one popular action thriller.
“Jacky Chan, thank you for receiving the award. Don’t forget Kuala Lumpur.”
“We love Dato Jacky … I am sure Malaysia is in your heart,” he tweeted again.
…
Among those questioning the move was actor Afdlin Shauki.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love Jackie Chan but a datukship mean jack s**t to him. What is a datukship on the international stage?
“For a Malaysian, we know it is a great honour to be bestowed (not bought), a datukship.
“It would mean a lot again if these datukships were conferred on Malaysians who actually made the country proud for their contributions to the country,” he said on Facebook.

Jail letter written by Jaycee Chan to his mother helped him gain light sentence: report http://str.sg/ZVt
Hong Kong – A letter written by Jaycee Chan to his mother while in detention helped to lighten his sentence for a drug offence, said a report.
The three-page letter in which Jaycee apologised to his mother, former actress Lin Feng-jiao, moved prison staff who felt he had shown remorse over his offence.
…
In the letter, Jaycee, 32, complained of Chan’s “insufficient love” for him, as he told his mother why he fell into the drug habit.
The actor said that, born into a celebrity family and as the son of the megastar, he shouldered enormous stress.
Although he led a carefree life coming from a rich background, he felt he faced a blank future.
He said that after he mistakenly met the wrong friends and was introduced to drugs, he would use drugs to forget his problems.
He said he regretted his error, promised not to be wilful and to turn over a new leaf.
Lin received the letter, which was seen by prison staff for security checks, 10 days ago, Ming Pao Weekly said.

Jaycee Chan formally arrested on drug charge
Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee Chan was placed under arrest yesterday for allowing others to take drugs at his home, nearly a month after he and Taiwan-based movie star Kai Ko were detained on charges of drug use.
…
Ko told police that it was Chan who introduced him to drugs and that he’d taken his first, sweet hit of the greenery at the (presumably former) friend’s home back in 2012. That handsome snitch.
In a confession aired on CCTV, Chan said that he first smoked weed under perfectly legal circumstances while visiting Amsterdam in 2006, and after that his raging drug habit spiraled out of control.
…
The Dongcheng District prosecutor’s office gave approval for the formal arrest of Chan after police made the request last week, according to its Weibo account. If convicted, Chan could face up to three years in prison.

Who’s next, after Jaycee Chan and Kai Ko?
More celebrity drug arrests are expected, reports The Straits Times Communities, as the Chinese police widen their dragnet to include stars who have come and gone from the home of actor Jackie Chan’s son in Beijing.
Working with Chan’s confession and CCTV footage, the police have made a list which includes three high-profile male entertainers, said an Apple Daily report.
One of the trio is an actor whose surname starts with C, said the report citing unnamed sources. Apparently, he is known in China and Taiwan, and close to Chan.
The other two are a singer whose surname starts with C, and an actor whose surname starts with H, added the report.
In addition, the police have listed 120 stars from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, said Next Magazine.
