Hasnan Hassan would have been a proud father today.
His wife of seven years, Intan Maizura Othaman, gave birth to their second child yesterday – a 3.88kg baby boy – but Hasnan, a Malaysia Airlines flight attendant was not there to cradle his son.
Hasnan, 34, was one of 12 MAS crew members on board the missing MAS flight MH370.
The healthy baby was named Muhammad, a name which Hasnan had chosen for him. He was born at 4pm at the Putrajaya Hospital.

Iman, four, has not stopped asking for her father, Hazrin Hasnan. More so in the mornings, when she wakes up, and before bedtime.
Hazrin, 34, is one of the 12 crew members on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 which vanished while en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8.
“She asks when will her Papa be home. When she looks at his photographs on my iPad and my phone, she would ask me to call him,” said Hasnan’s wife, Intan Maizura Othaman, when met in Subang recently.
“Once, she woke up early and cried out for him. It broke my heart. She misses her dad and I miss him, too,” said Intan, who is also a flight attendant.
