A video uploaded by the Singapore Tourism Board to its YouTube channel last month was taken down on Monday, hours after it received flak online.

The three-minute clip appears to be an advertisement to encourage people from the Philippines to visit the city-state.

Titled “See where the world is heading”, it features a romantic couple travelling to Singapore to celebrate their anniversary. They walk around Marina Bay Sands and Gardens By The Bay, and at the luxury hotel’s rooftop skypark, the woman gives her man a very surprising present.

The video, which was uploaded on 26 March, was taken down hours after news and lifestyle website Mothership.sg came out with a post Monday titled “This STB video is so bad it will go viral“. The reactions on social media proved the site right.

Foreign students’ video of Singapore tourist spots gets people dancing, smiling

Four Japanese exchange students got hundreds of people dancing at 45 spots around Singapore, bringing smiles to many faces.

The undergraduates from National University of Singapore (NUS), aged between 20 and 22, had people groove to “Koi Suru Fortune Cookie” by AKB48, a popular pop girl group in Japan, at such places as the National Museum of Singapore and Sultan Mosque.

“We feel that many people (mostly Japanese) do not know much about Singapore…we felt that Singapore is not only about Marina Bay Sands and Merlion. So we would like to introduce Singapore to the world including Japan,” said one of them, Takanori Ito, 22, in an email interview with Yahoo Singapore.

He added, “We would like many people who have some interests in Singapore to know more about Singapore. We would like this video to be one of the guides of Singapore. Moreover we would like those who watch this video to enjoy and smile.”

The lady in blue was queuing up waiting for 950 to go back home. This singaporean suddenly cuts her queue, she asked him to queue up behind. He claims that he was in the queue just now. But he went off to buy a drink at the shop nearby and came back. He claims that he is in the queue, nobody saw him.

Bus came. All in the queue went up the bus, this guy went up too, everyone complaints. He pushed the blue lady down the bus and spitted saliva on her face multiple times.. (estimated +- 10x) , she went to call the control room personnels to scene. This guys hogs the bus refusing to alight, blaming the driver for not moving becos he is waiting for him to alight or police to come. (Meanwhile control room sends for a second bus). He still insist its the drivers fault. Alot of ppl screamed and scolded him for being inconsiderate. He fought back with the whole bus of passengers to 25% of the bus, squeezed his way roughly out again. (Second bus came, back door opens, ppl alights, he rushed to the back door stopping ppl from coming down but failed becos alot of guys pushed him aside. This green lady was unlucky, got stopped by him. He said she scolded him in the bus just now and there is none of her business why she KPO.

He then spit saliva multiple times on her face. Pushed her from the front. She shouted molest. Molest. Molest. He denied. He spitted saliva at her face multiple times (10+++) again. (My video started recording).

I stopped recording when my bus came.

He is such a disgrace to be called a singaporean. So uncivilized. Keep spitting at the 2 poor ladies. (In blue and green.) The poor green lady even got molested by him for helping the blue lady out.

I hope those around that have taken video of the front part and the part after I stopped will post and expose this guy and shame him. Hopefully police will see and use it as prove against him.

Shame shame..

Cyclist breaks all traffic rules, stops traffic near Vivocity

Published on Oct 8, 2013

Cyclist first beats the red light at a traffic junction. He then road hogs on the right-most lane of a busy road during peak hours, without any intention to turn right. Cyclist rides unpredictably on the dotted road line, moving left and right on the line and suddenly cuts into lane of vehicle at 0:48, causing me to jam my brakes and honk. The only honk was made at this point of time. The rest of the video speaks for itself.

I seek other motorists who were present at the scene to share any video evidence (with sound preferably), of the events which happened.

In-car video was taken on 8 October, approximately 7pm. Happened at the traffic junction turning into Vivocity Carpark.

Cyclist apprently breaks 3 traffic rules in this video:
1. Beating the red light (0:16)
2. Travelling on right-most lane without any intention to turn right (throughout video)
3. Stopping in the middle of the road twice, asking for a fight. (0:53 and 1:56)

Hope this video serves as a reminder to all motorists and cyclist to be more mindful of the traffic rules and their own safety.

Cheers

Singapore Bikini Girls vs Carpark Aunty

Published on Oct 2, 2013

Should we allow people to suntan in carpark and similar public places other than swimming pools and beaches? Discuss SG (http://www.discuss.com.sg) user rocky submitted this video to us. He writes: “I was looking out of my kitchen window in at around 2pm and spotted two girls suntanning on the rooftop of the multi-storey carpark infront of my flat. Quickly went to get my camcorder to shoot them. The two girls were in their bikinis and were suntanning for more than 7 minutes when a carpark attendant came walking towards them and started to scold them. I couldn’t hear their actual words but it seems that the carpark attendant wanted them to leave the carpark. An argument took place and one of the girls was even hit by the carpark attendant’s umbrella on her forehead! I kaypoh so I went downstairs to see if I can spot the girls. Saw them at the nearby park. The girl had a slight cut on her forehead. Can see a bit of blood!”

Failed wedding proposal goes viral

Popular chocolate company, Cadbury, kick started its latest campaign for a new range of chocolates called “Bournville”, with what could be the most epic failed wedding proposal ever.

A man leads his girlfriend of three months to a central spot in a busy shopping mall (not sure where) and breaks into a prepared wedding speech, complete with musical accompaniment and band. Passers-by in the busy mall stop to watch the unfolding drama.

However, things slowly start to unravel.

A cleaner is seen mopping the floor in the background while a kiddy “choo-choo” train interrupts his wedding proposal spiel.

And if you watch closely, you will see the phrase “Not So Sweet” printed on the train, which refers to Cadbury’s campaign title.

The man then throws in a couple of cheesy lines from Bruno Mar’s “Just The Way You Are” hit song before he starts to get down on his knees.

But as he starts to go down on his knee, his girlfriend tries to stop him. Watch for yourself what happens next.

OUCH!! The girlfriend then abandons him, leaving him alone by himself in the atrium of the busy mall.

SINGAPORE’S SCARIEST TAXI

US televison channel truTV extended their pranks series to Singapore, just in time for the Hungry Ghost Festival happening between 7 August and 4 September.

The team scared a lady passenger who boarded a taxi with her male friend. She was first freaked out by the driver’s non-responsive behaviour and began to worry when the driver stopped at some god forsaken road near a jungle and left the car, with the two of them inside.

She bickered with her friend – who had set her up – and kept saying that they should leave and run but her friend seemed hesitant (obviously) to do so. Minutes later, a ghost – which definitely looks like a “Pontianak” – suddenly appeared and was walking towards the cab.

The girl scrambled out of the car screaming until she saw the truTV crew and it was all laughs after that.

We wonder where the Pontianak disappeared to though.

A man who shoved an elderly woman on a bus was ordered on Friday to undergo two years of mandatory treatment for his psychiatric conditions.
……….
Ong’s lawyer, Mr Eddie Koh, told The Straits Times that the treatment order was “a good sentence” as his client will now receive consistent treatment at the Institute of Mental Health. He added that previously Ong would go for treatment “on and off”.

Channel NewsAsia reported that Ong was charged for hurting Hwang Li Lian, 76, on bus service 167.

The incident happened at around 3pm on 5 June 2012.

The two-minute video, which was posted a day after the incident, showed Ong pushing Hwang on her back with his right hand, which caused her to fall on the steps of the bus exit door.

He was apparently upset with Hwang for pressing the bell just as the bus was leaving a bus stop along Upper Thomson Road.

He allegedly threatened to slap her and shouted at her before eventually shoving her off of the bus.

After the attack on the old woman, commuters were seen in the video going to her aid.

A court hearing is scheduled for December.

Hilarious trailer for jobs website goes viral

By jeffoon | What’s buzzing?

A 90-second video promoting a Singapore-based community jobs website is going viral.

Brilliantly creative and hilarious at the same time, the tongue-in-cheek video shows an elderly former massage therapist getting harassed by his shapely young female colleagues after they discover the former’s talent with his hands.

Throughout the video, the man complains in deadpan fashion and in fluent Hokkien about how his new female workmates, all in various states of undress, try to get him to lay his hands on them for a rubdown.

The final tagline — “Take a closer look before you take that job” — encourages jobseekers to visit jobiness.com to do their research on their new job and company before taking the plunge.

Young S’pore duo flamed online for refusing to leave nursing room

By jeffoon | What’s buzzing? – 5 hours ago

Here we go again.

Hot on the heels of the senior Barclays banker who got fired and the Amy Cheong saga, here are two Singapore boys now risking the mighty wrath of enraged netizens.

In the latest case, the pair of boys — who look like they’re still in their teens — are being flamed online left, right and centre after camping out at a nursing room at the Woodlands Regional Library on Sunday afternoon, 4th November.

Despite being repeatedly asked to leave by a mother who wanted to use the room to breastfeed her young ‘un, the foolish young duo chose to remain childishly defiant.

One of them, who was fiddling with his PSP and didn’t even bother to look up most of the time, even dared to flash his middle finger at the mother, who recorded the entire episode, presumably on her smartphone.

“You better not put me in stomp. My parents are very important people. They are really big people k,” he also muttered.

The boys eventually left the room after a library staff reprimanded them, but not before they left McDonald’s litter all over the room.
