#Chinese comedian Li Haoshi (House) punished and banned for allegedly “insulting” #XiJinpang and #PLA when he made a joke during his performance on May 13th. He said that when his two dogs chasing after a squirrel, 8 (Chinese words) flashed in his mind. The 8 words are ‘作风优良,能打胜仗’, which means that they have excellent conduct and can win the battle. Why can this get both himself and his company in trouble? Because the 8 words are Xi Jinping’s requirement for PLA. He also said these 2 dogs were stray dogs he adopted. In #China, when people refer to someone as a “dog” or a “stray dog,” it often carries a negative connotation and can even be used as an insult. During the military parade celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of PLA, when Xi Jinping rode in the field inspection vehicle past the reviewing stand, the soldiers in formation shouted in unison: “Follow the Party’s command, capable of winning battles, with excellent conduct!” (听党指挥,能打胜仗,作风优良!)
