SHAH ALAM – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he will not be cowed into silence by threats made by certain quarters aimed at toppling him from federal power.

Addressing thousands of delegates at PKR’s special congress today, the party president said he will no longer allow the previous practice by past leaders, protecting the corrupt and enriching a few to go on.

He said although he was accused of political persecution against the opposition, Anwar vowed that his government would continue to protect the rakyat and take on those guilty of graft.

“You want to threaten me by (conducting) an assembly? You want to threaten me from acting against corruption? You chose the wrong prime minister!

“I will not be influenced by these threats. If we have power, we will act. If you want to try to attempt a coup, by all means. But it will not be easy,” he told PKR delegates. – The Vibes, March 18, 2023

IGP warns action against those threatening national security over race, religion

By Nur Zarina Othman – March 17, 2023 @ 8:44pm

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have issued a warning of stern action against anyone found to be making remarks that could jeopardise national security on the basis of race or religion.

“Police are closely monitoring the current security situation and will take decisive and uncompromising action against any party found to be making religious/racial sensitive statements that endanger national security and public order,” said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani in a statement.

He said the situation was currently under control so far and asked the public to refrain from making statements that could incite hostility.

“The level of security at the moment is under control, and police are dedicated to making sure that law enforcement is carried out consistently to guarantee that security is maintained.

“It is recommended that members of the community refrain from making or disseminating statements that could jeopardise intergroup relations or incite hostility.”

Acryl Sani also called for anyone with information about such actions to contact the nearest police station to assist investigations.

“The community is advised not to issue or share statements that are capable of affecting racial harmony or arousing public anger.

“Any party who has information about any such action can channel it to the nearest police station for further action.”
