PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has slammed a man doing freelance research for Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan for claiming it had offered RM10 million to the MP to frame Muhyiddin Yassin in a corruption case.

The man, who claimed to be Wan Saiful’s research officer, made the accusation in a 44-second clip on TikTok.

In response, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki hit out at the “wild allegation” levelled against the commission.

“This is an irresponsible person and the MACC will take legal action against him.

“It’s slander and this is the kind of person who erodes the public’s trust in the MACC,” he told FMT, adding that the commission would lodge a report soon against the man.

A check with Wan Saiful’s aide revealed that the man was a freelance researcher for the Tasik Gelugor MP.

Earlier today, Wan Saiful claimed trial to accepting a bribe of RM6.9 million in relation to the Jana Wibawa initiative.

He was also charged with soliciting an unspecified amount for a road project worth RM232 million linked to the programme.

Also charged was Segambut Bersatu deputy chief Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad. He claimed trial to soliciting and accepting a bribe of RM500,000, also linked to Jana Wibawa.
