PETALING JAYA: Four men have been arrested following a road rage incident in Klang in which a driver was beaten up and the windscreen and windows of his car smashed.
The incident occurred at Taman Sentosa in south Klang at about 4.30pm yesterday, police said in a statement.
Two short videos of the incident were captured by the victim, which showed a group of men smashing the windscreen and windows of his car by the side of the road.
Police said the car, with the driver and his cousin in it, was involved in an accident with the suspects’ car. The suspects came out of their car and pulled the driver out and proceeded to beat him with a stick, vandalise his car and grab a mobile phone belonging to his cousin.
Preliminary urine tests showed that all the suspects were under the influence of methamphetamine-like drugs.
Police have arrested four individuals for ramming their car into another car before assaulting and robbing the victims in an incident at Taman Sentosa, Klang, yesterday.
Klang Selatan police chief Shamsul Amar Ramli said the 4.30pm incident happened when a car, en route to Port Klang, was rear-ended by a Honda Civic.
“One of the suspects smashed the window, dragged out the driver, and hit him with a stick. He also took a handphone belonging to another victim, who is the driver’s cousin,” he said.
Following the report on the incident, the police launched an operation and detained the four suspects less than 12 hours after the incident happened.
Shamsul added that the suspects were aged between 23 and 35. They were all jobless and were under the influence of methamphetamine during the incident.
