Nak caci saya “Babi” “Bangsat” “Bodoh” “hancing”, saya tetap akan hormati, kerana itu hak saudara. Tetapi kalau sampai nak guna serangan fizikal, that’s too much! I want to be a “Yang Berkhidmat” which serves all Malaysians regardless of race, religion and political ideologies. Kerana Malaysia menyatupadukan kita semua. May Allah swt open up their hearts and minds. Laporan polis akan saya buat pada pukul 2pm di Balai Polis Sungai way. *Syed Saddiq* https://www.facebook.com/1130669147012110/posts/2054469277965421?sfns=mo
PETALING JAYA: Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has lodged a police report claiming that he was assaulted and intimidated by Umno blogger Papagomo and other opposition supporters during the nomination process for the Semenyih by-election in Kajang today.
The minister lodged the report at the Sungai Way police station.
“I don’t know what Papagomo’s intention was when he suddenly grabbed the back of my neck really hard when I and my three friends were leaving the nomination centre for the Semenyih by-election,” he told reporters after lodging the report.
Syed Saddiq claimed that Papagomo, whose real name is Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, also told him to leave the nomination centre.
“He (Papagomo) tried to intimidate me by telling me to stay out and never come back (to the centre).
“I could not do anything and just walked away while being helped by several policemen and PAS’ Unit Amal (Welfare Unit) members who blocked Papagomo and dispersed the opposition supporters,” he said, adding that he then quickly got into his car and left the scene.
Azri is also part of the Umno Youth executive council.
I was headlocked, says Syed Saddiq; it was just a hug, says Papagomo
SEMENYIH: Despite a fast and smooth nomination process, a couple of unfortunate incidents marred an otherwise cordial atmosphere at the Semenyih nomination centre.
Shortly after the four candidates of the Semenyih by-election were announced, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman claimed he was nearly attacked by Barisan Nasional supporters as he left the nomination centre at around 11.05am today (Feb 16).
He later lodged a police report at Sungai Way police station.
He alleged that Umno Youth exco member Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known as Papagomo, cornered him from a different route and put him in a headlock.
“I was walking to my car, along with three others, when the incident occurred.
“At first, the Barisan supporters simply jeered at me, so I did not heed what they said and continued walking,” Syed Saddiq said.
The Youth and Sports Minister said nearby policemen managed to stop the situation from turning even more serious during his encounter with Papagomo.
Syed Saddiq said no political party should resort to violence.
The Muar MP said he would now leave the matter to the police and also go for a medical check-up.
Earlier, he posted videos of the incident on social media, expressing his disappointment with the “act of gangsterism”.
