Villager: Datuk threatened to demolish village on ‘PM’s orders’

Manis said that this was not the first time villagers of Kampung Bukit Kuda had faced similar threats in an attempt to force them to evacuate.

She said in 2015, an individual, known only as “Faizal”, claimed he owned the land and created a lot of problems to chase the villagers out.

But two years ago, the court granted the villagers the right to the land as they had been residing there for over five decades.

Meanwhile, PSM’s S Arutchelvan, who accompanied the villagers, wants the matter to be investigated.

Meanwhile, a political secretary to the prime minister, Abu Bakar Yahya, who received the memorandum, promised the villagers that a probe will be carried out.

“It will be easy to identify this ‘Datuk’. We hope Bukit Aman will investigate.”
