Najib’s former aide remanded for seven days over 1MDB probe
A former special officer to Najib Abdul Razak was today remanded for seven days to assist in MACC’s probe into 1MDB.
It is understood that the 42-year-old ‘Datuk’ was arrested at the MACC headquarters about 9.45pm last night, where he had gone to have his statement recorded.
At the court, the MACC prosecutors had requested for a seven-day remand, but the suspect, however, pleaded against it, claiming he had “health issues”.
He also pledged to accord full cooperation to MACC.
Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim granted MACC’s application for remand until Sunday, July 1.
It was reported over a year ago that a company owned by the suspect had received RM2 million from the personal account of former prime minister Najib, which allegedly came from SRC International, a subsidiary of the embattled 1MDB.
The suspect was also the co-owner of the company which developed Najib’s own mobile app, released about two years ago.

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has launched an official mobile application that allows the public to interact and share ideas and suggestions with him.
According to the description on Google Play and the Apple App Store, the app is “specifically designed for the convenience of users and to enable interaction with the Prime Minister of Malaysia”.

Who is the developer of Najib’s new app?
A check on the Commission of Company Malaysia’s records shows that Resonate Digital Sdn Bhd was established in January 2014.
In “nature of business”, it wrote: “Principally engaged in the management, administration, development, control, supervision, and marketing of web management and communication strategies solutions.”
The company has two directors: Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin, 40, is, interestingly, a special officer in the Prime Minister’s Department; Har Kok Kit, 47, is a former senior executive in Astro.
According to the balance sheet dated April 30, 2015, the company has RM8,920 current assets and RM8,839 in liabilities.
