KHALWAT: CLOSE PROXIMITY
Under Islamic law, unmarried men and women are prohibited from coming together in a secluded place, or in a house or room under circumstances which may give rise to suspicion that they were engaged in immoral acts.
IN THE EVENT OF A KHALWAT RAID ON A HOTEL, THESE ARE THE RULES
1. Hotels are not allowed to open the door for the religious authorities.
2. The religious authorities cannot ask the hotels who is staying in a certain room or which room is a person staying in.
3. The religious authorities also cannot go knocking door to door.
Isteri orang khalwat bawa anak
SEREMBAN: Wanita isteri orang yang membawa anak lelaki berusia empat tahun, antara 14 individu ditahan kerana berkhalwat dalam operasi Jabatan Hal Ehwal Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan (JHEAINS) di sini.
Dalam Op Bersepadu Krismas selama sembilan jam berakhir jam 6 pagi semalam, wanita berusia 31 tahun itu bersama pasangannya berusia 29 tahun, ditahan di dalam sebuah bilik di hotel bajet di Senawang.
Ketua Unit Operasi Bahagian Penguatkuasaan JHEAINS, Ahmad Zaki Hamzah, berkata semua tujuh pasangan terbabit yang berusia antara 19 hingga 48 tahun disiasat kerana kesalahan percubaan melakukan persetubuhan haram.

Muslim foreign workers in Johor increasingly caught committing khalwat
JOHOR BARU: An increasing number of foreign workers are being caught committing khalwat (close proximity) in budget hotels here, Johor State Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) assistant director Mohd Hafiz Abdul Rahman said on Wednesday.
He said the foreigners, who work in the state’s industrial areas, treat budget hotels as “vice dens.”
“In contrast with the Islamic prohibition on gambling, drinking alcohol and fornication, the khalwat offence is the highest among (Muslim) foreigners (here),” he said.

JOHOR BARU: Two Indonesians were among eight people detained by the Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) in an anti-vice operation in the Tampoi district, yesterday.
JAINJ assistant enforcement director, Mohd Hafiz Abdul Rahman, said the eight were nabbed on suspicion of “close proximity” during a raid at three low-budget hotels in Taman Tampoi Utama and Taman Tampoi Indah.
The two-hour operation began at midnight.
