Malacca: Targetted by Islamic State terrorists?

Just what does Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron mean when he says said that the IS threat in the state was under control?

“Mirror Mirror on the wall
Who is the deadliest of them all?”

It is Malacca boy, Muhammad Wanndy Mohamed Jedi.

Muhammad Wanndy, 26, who is from Durian Tunggal, Malacca and took on the name Abu Hamzah since joining the IS in Syria last year, is the mastermind who incited a local terror cell busted on Friday to execute the bombing of the Movida pub in Puchong on June 28.

The other two Syria-based Malaysian IS militants who lead several terror cells here are Mohd Rafi Udin, 50, from Negri Sembilan, and Zainuri Kamaruddin, 49, a former leader of the Kumpulan Mujahiddin Malaysia (KMM).

IGP: Muhammad Wanndy’s influence the deadliest

KUALA LUMPUR: Militant Muhammad Wanndy Mohamed Jedi, who is among the three Malaysian firebrands of the Islamic State (IS) calling on locals to join the terror group’s cause, is ranked the deadliest for his vehement push for bloody attacks in the country.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed today that Muhammad Wanndy’s influence on local terror cells posed the biggest threat to the country but police are constantly on the watch to thwart his plots.

“There is no pride and glory in instigating his recruits to kill and maim innocent citizens. This is a twisted and insane ideology which we hope those under his influence will realise is wrong by religion and every other sense.” he told theSun.

It is learnt that the Movida attackers had earlier targeted another bigger entertainment outlet in Taman Wawasan, Puchong.

“They had gone to the nightclub which had a larger crowd hours earlier for surveillance and planned to strike the place later.

However, when they returned around 12am, the place was closed. So they turned to Movida. We learnt that they carried out the attack as nightspots were ‘unIslamic and had disrespected the holy month of Ramadan’,” said a federal police source.
