‘Muhyiddin will be asked to quit PPBM soon’
.
PETALING JAYA: An Umno Youth leader says he expects Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) president Muhyiddin Yassin will be ousted from the party leadership soon.
Youth exco member Ibdilillah Ishak said he would not be surprised if the former deputy prime minister was asked to quit as president so that deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir could take over.
“This will be easier for Mukhriz’s father, Mahathir, to name him as the prime minister candidate for Pakatan Harapan,” he said in a statement today.
Ibdilillah’s response came after former Batu Kawan Umno deputy chief and PPBM member Khairuddin Abu Hassan’s call on Muhyiddin to come clean over his alleged scandal with a businesswoman.

Khairuddin: Muhyiddin must clear himself of affair allegations
.
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Muhyiddin Yassin has been urged to clear himself of allegations that he had an affair with a married woman.
Former Bersatu member Khairuddin Abu Hassan said this is in light of claims that founding party member Anina Saadudin was stripped of her post as Srikandi (women) chief due to an alleged sexting scandal.
“This should not be seen as a trivial issue. Bersatu must take proactive measures in order to counter Umno attacks (on Muhyiddin’s scandal) in the coming election.
“Bersatu must be seen as clean, and fair… for the good of the party, its president must clear his name,” Khairuddin said in a statement today.
The former Batu Kawan Umno division vice-chief was referring to a divorce case in which a former deputy public prosecutor alleged his wife had an affair with Muhyiddin.
The former deputy prime minister has denied the claim, calling it a malicious slander.
“Bersatu must be seen as clean, and fair… for the good of the party, its president must clear his name,” Khairuddin said in a statement today.

Nothing To Hide 2.0 forum organisers accused of lying
Two-thirds of crowd storms out, some verbally abusing Nothing To Hide 2.0 forum organisers

AMPANG: An angry crowd turned against organisers of the Nothing To Hide 2.0 forum here after the no-show by deposed Umno deputy leader Muhyiddin Yassin.
About two-thirds of the 200-strong crowd stormed out angrily of the forum, with some verbally abusing the organisers, Malay rights activist group Jaringan Melayu Malaysia, and accused them of lying.
One participant said: “These are Najib’s people, they are trying to lie about Muhyiddin.”
Another participant, Hukum Mohd Noor, 60, told FMT that he felt cheated, as he had expected to hear about pressing issues concerning the country instead of revelations of an alleged affair concerning Muhyiddin.
“We wanted to know about big issues concerning the country. Instead, they are exposing all the ‘bad things’ about Muhyiddin and it’s all lies. We are Muslim and we are fasting. This is not good at all.”
About 200 people had filled the hall at Kelab Darul Ehsan in Ampang at 3pm, when forum organisers said that Muhyiddin was on his way.
At 4pm, JMM president Azwanddin Hamzah took the stage and began verbally attacking the former deputy prime minister.
More than 100 people left the hall in anger, shouting at JMM and accusing them of lying.
One participant, who wished not to be named, said that they had come because they wanted to hear Muhyiddin’s side of the story. “We are not interested in those trivial issues.”
Another, Purnama Kassim, 55, a retiree from Johor Baru, told FMT that she was enraged about the contents of the forum, dismissing it as pure slander and lies.
Another attendee said that he already knew Muhyiddin wouldn’t make an appearance when Azwanddin took to the stage to voice out his feelings and opinions.

Group protests against Muhyiddin outside courthouse
The group of about 20 people, led by Ali Tinju, wants the former DPM to ‘debate’ them on his alleged affair with a businesswoman.
KUALA LUMPUR: About 20 protesters from Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) gathered in front of the Jalan Duta Court Complex here to challenge former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin to a debate.
They want him to debate them on his alleged affair with a businesswoman. Muhyiddin has denied any such affair.
The group, led by JMM secretary-general Hamdan Mohd Salleh and controversial Umno figure Ali Tinju, gathered as early as 8am outside the gates of the court complex, where the divorce proceedings of former public prosecutor Stanley Clement Augustin and his estranged wife Nika Gee Siew Yee, was set to take place.
Former Umno deputy president Muhyiddin has been dragged into the case by a blogger.
In his divorce filing last year, Augustin had alleged that Gee was involved in an affair with a political figure – out of which, he claimed, she had gained financially and other material benefits.
Blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin later named Muhyiddin as the politician – an allegation the latter has vehemently denied, calling it slanderous and unfounded.

Fury after Muhyiddin no-show at forum
Jaringan group demands an apology, says will reveal details about Umno supreme council people behind a secret meeting with Muhyiddin held before Ramadan.

…
AMPANG: Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM), a Malay rights activist group, has demanded an apology from Umno rebel Muhyiddin Yassin for not appearing at a forum “Nothing to Hide 2.0” today.
JMM president Azwanddin Hamzah threatened to reveal details of a secret meeting held before Ramadan began at which the forum was discussed.
Azwanddin said he would reveal the involvement of several members of the Umno supreme council who organised the meeting with Muhyiddin and the member of Parliament who was the middleman.
He said Muhyiddin had agreed to attend the forum. “I told Muhyiddin to explain the allegations surrounding him and he agreed to attend. Then suddenly, his personal aide came out with a statement yesterday, pulling out from the forum at the last minute.”
He said Muhyiddin had denied the authenticity of a statutory declaration in which he was alleged to have had an affair with someone’s wife. He had dismissed it as slander, Azwanddin said.
…
“After his denial, I thought Muhyiddin would have the confidence to explain this matter to the people,” Azwanddin said.
When asked by reporters when the meeting was held, he simply answered “before Ramadan month”, adding: “Ask him (Muhyiddin) about the exact date, time and location.”
