ALOR SETAR: A member of the Police Volunteer Reserve was seriously injured when he was rammed by a Mat Rempit trying to escape a roadblock during an operation in Kepala Batas near here.
Kota Setar district police chief Asst Comm Mohd Rozi Jidin said the incident occurred at a traffic light junction during Ops Samseng Jalanan at about 3.10am yesterday.
“The motorcyclist was trying to escape when he hit my men. Kons Muhammad Annas Ikmal Mior Arif Ariffin suffered a fracture on his left leg and sustained facial injuries.
“He has been warded at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital,” he said.
ACP Mohd Rozi said a 17-year-old youth from Felda Bukit Tangga, Changlun, had been arrested.
