This video has been doing the rounds on Thai social media again this weekend. Captured on what appears to be a police camera last year, it shows a Thai police stopping a motorcyclist who tried to drive away from a police checkpoint in the northern city of Chiang Mai.

The would-be escapist is out of luck on this occasion, with the policeman delivering a deftly timed kick to knock him off his motorbike before taking him down. The Thai-language Prachachat website later reported that the motorcyclist had already driven through an earlier checkpoint and was found to be in possession of drugs.
