Chaos ensued after one female passenger from mainland China reportedly tried to force her way onto an airplane. Seven staff members from the airline company had to rush over to stop her.
Five other agitated passengers also got physical with the staff members. During the chaos, three male and four female staff members were injured and sent to the hospital.
The employees — aged between 20 and 32 — suffered minor injuries and were all discharged from hospital after treatment, reports SCMP.
Police arrested the tourists, three men and three women aged 21 to 42.
Last night five of them were charged with common assault, while the sixth was charged with breaching the Airport Authority Bylaw.

Mainland passengers storm plane, assault Hong Kong airport staff after flight delay
A group of six tourists from mainland China were arrested at the Hong Kong International Airport today after being accused of assaulting airport staff members because their flight to Beijing had been delayed for more than six hours.
The incident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. as over 100 passengers on Hong Kong Airlines flight 304 were stranded at the airport due to to delays. Chaos ensued after one female passenger from mainland China reportedly tried to force her way onto an airplane. Seven staff members from the airline company had to rush over to stop her.
Apple Daily reports that five other agitated passengers also got physical with the staff members. During the chaos, three male and four female staff members were injured and sent to the hospital.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested three men and three women from mainland China for common assault.
The flight finally left Hong Kong at 4:45 a.m., according to the SCMP, 8.5 hours after it was meant to take off.

Six tourists from the Chinese mainland were detained for beating ground staffers in an airport in Hong Kong after their flight was delayed and caused public anger on early Sunday, Apple Daily reported.
Seven staffers were injured in a brawl involving five passengers while trying to stop another female passenger intending to trespass through the boarding gate. The injured people were taken to hospital.
More than 100 passengers were stranded when the riot broke out at 2:00 am.
The newspaper didn’t reveal details about the flight, while a post on Sina Weibo said Hong Kong Airlines staffers didn’t take care of stranded passengers as the Beijing-bound flight HX304 was delayed for six hours later than the original take-off time of 8:00 pm.
The post also cited airlines staffers’ bad attitude as the reason for the conflict.
“Who do you (mainland people) think you are? This is Hong Kong,” the post quoted one staffer as saying.
