Legoland operations up and running again

NUSAJAYA: Legoland Malaysia Resort in Nusajaya operations is back to usual today despite a fire last night that destroyed one of the park’s famed replicas.

The Kuala Lumpur Miniland replica cluster of about 400 sq metres of built-up area was destroyed in the fire that occurred around 8.30pm last night, after the closing hours of the park.

A Johor Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said a team from the Pulai fire station was immediately despatched to the location after receiving a distress call at around 8.40pm. The fire was put out some 25 minutes later.

Public Relations Manager of Legoland Malaysia, Deviga Doreraja, said the cause of the fire is currently being investigated by both the park’s management investigation team and other relevant authorities. http://www.thesundaily.my/news/1493098

Fire at LEGOLAND Malaysia!!

Over night news has come out that a minor fire almost completely destroyed a replica at the Miniland section of Legoland Malaysia Resort.

Johor Baru Fire and Rescue Department operations officer S. Dullasi Nathan said the fire which affected the Kuala Lumpur cluster of LEFO replicas was extinguished by the theme park’s staff by the time firemen arrived at the scene. The park was closed at the time of the incident.

Dullasi said further checks were conducted to ensure the fire had been completely put out. The cause of the fire was still being investigated. “It was a small fire. The park was closed at the time, so no one was injured,” he said when contacted by the New Straits Times.

A team of six firemen rushed to the scene upon receiving the distress call at about 8.40pm.
