DISRUPTIONS on TigerAir flights will continue today after a bomb scare led parts of Melbourne Airport — including a Tiger plane — to be evacuated last night.
The airport was declared safe just after 5am — eight hours after the security scare started about 9pm and after a police search shut down the airline’s Terminal 4 for six hours.
At least one planeload of passengers on board a Tiger flight were last night moved from the plane on to buses.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belle Nolan said the search did not turn up anything hazardous and concluded just after 5am.
Ms Nolan said officers took over the incident from the Australian Federal Police just after 11pm.
…
She said TigerAir flights would continue to be delayed today, and urged passengers to check the airline’s website and Twitter feed.

Tigerair Australia CEO Rob Sharp said all necessary steps were taken by the airline to implement precautionary measures and ensure passenger safety.
He thanked Australian Federal Police and Victorian police who were sent in to search the terminal following the threat.
“Tigerair also apologises to affected passengers for the inconvenience and is doing everything possible to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible,” Mr Sharp said.
Victoria Police are investigating.
Police would not confirm the nature of the security threat but some on Twitter claiming to be passengers mentioned a possible bomb threat.

Tigerair flights were evacuated and several others cancelled after a security threat at Melbourne Airport on Friday night.
Parts of Terminal Four were also evacuated about 9pm on Friday and the airline’s operations were shut down until Victoria Police declared the area safe at 5.15am on Saturday, Melbourne Airport spokeswoman Anna Gillett said.
A Tigerair spokesman said the security scare was sparked by information the airline received on Friday, which was then passed on to police.
It is understood the threat related to a plane that was on the runway and the surrounding area.
“The threat did not pertain to the terminal area,” the spokesman said.
Three inbound planes were evacuated on the runway and passengers were transferred onto busses which took them to the terminal.
Three outbound flights were cancelled, the airline’s spokesman said.
Police are continuing to investigate the security scare.
