Two killed in LRT accident (Update)
PETALING JAYA: The second worker, who was buried with his colleague under collapsed scaffolding at the Ampang LRT extension project near Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, was recovered at about 1.05am Thursday.
The body of the other worker, both from Bangladesh, was found earlier at about 9.30pm Wednesday at the site in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru.

UPDATE 9.29PM: Prasarana says the worker found safe was never trapped, and was found at the ‘kongsi’ after checks.
Prasarana initially said four were trapped but in a 9.29pm update said one was found at the on-site workers’ accommodation.
Rescue personnel are still trying to save two Bangladeshi workers and an Indonesian worker.

KUALA LUMPUR: A concrete slab measuring 30 ft by 30 ft collapsed at the Putra Height LRT station at 4.30pm today, trapping three construction workers underneath.
Rescuers who rushed to the scene were currently carrying out search and rescue operation.
The concrete was meant to be the terminal floor of the building currently under construction.

MEDIA STATEMENT ON THE INCIDENT AT KAMPUNG KUALA SUNGAI BARU DEPOT OF THE AMG LRT LINE EXTENSION PROJECT (7:00 PM UPDATE)
Kuala Lumpur, 24 December 2014 – Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) wishes to inform that an incident has occurred at the Depot of the Ampang (AMG) LRT Extension Project worksite at Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru. The incident occurred at 4:20 pm when the formwork and scaffolding collapsed during the concreting of the deck slab. Prasarana also confirms that four workers sustained minor injuries and four are believed to be trapped. The injured workers were immediately given first aid treatment and are currently being treated at the nearby hospital. Rescue efforts are currently ongoing. The Emergency Response Team, as well as the Police and the Fire & Rescue Services have been mobilised and are at the site of the incident. Four ‘buried under concrete’ in LRT site mishap
Four workers are trapped following a mishap at the Light Rail Transit (LRT) extension project in Puchong this evening.
The Fire and Rescue Department said the victims were buried due to the “collapse of liquid concrete” at the worksite.
Four other workers sustained minor injuries in the 4.20pm incident and were sent to hospital, project owner Prasarana Malaysia Bhd said.
The incident occured at the depot of the Ampang LRT extension project site at Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru near Putra Heights, Prasarana said in a statement.
“The formwork and scaffolding collapsed during the concreting of the deck slab,” it said.
