Cops probe possibility of sabotage on MH192

Police are looking into the possibility of sabotage on the Malaysia Airlines MH192 from KLIA bound for Bangalore, India, early this morning.

“We will take the necessary steps to investigate,” said inspector-general of police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar at a press conference today.

SEPANG: The Transport Ministry wants a report by Wednesday on Monday’s incident in which a Malaysia Airlines flight bound for Bengaluru (Bangalore), India, was forced to turn back when aircraft’s landing gear malfunctioned after take-off, said its acting minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

He also said although he was impressed with the way the emergency landing at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was handled by the crew of MH192, the incident should not have happened.

“These sort of incidents should not happen. I have directed that although MAS is under Khazanah‎ (Nasional Bhd), the ministry should be given the report as soon as possible,” he told reporters at KLIA.

“I give them two days. On Wednesday, I want to see an early report as this is not something like MH370 that is missing in the Indian Ocean, it is related to the condition of the tyres (landing gear),” he said.

Suspense as MH192 makes emergency landing

Passengers on board Malaysian Airlines Flight MH192 faced a four hour terror ride after the landing gear malfunctioned shortly after take off, forcing a turnback and several attempts at an emergency landing.

At about 2am, the plane successfully made an emergency landing. There were 166 people on board.

Flight MH192 departed at 10.09pm for Bangalore last night. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft was supposed to have arrived at 2.35am (Malaysian time) today.

MH192 lands safely in KLIA

PETALING JAYA: A Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight bound for Bengaluru (Bangalore) which was forced to make a turn back, landed safely at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport early Monday.

MAS tweeted that the Boeing 737-200 aircraft landed at 1.56am, after its right-hand landing gear malfunctioned on take off.

Earlier, MAS had issued a statement that Flight MH192, that departed from KLIA at 10.09pm bound for Bengaluru, had to make an air turn back.

MAS flight bound for Bangalore makes turn back

PETALING JAYA: A Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight bound for Bengaluru (Bangalore) in India has made a turn back to Kuala Lumpur.

In a tweet posted by MAS at 12.39am, it said flight MH192 had departed from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 10.09pm on Sunday.

“[#MASalert] Flight MH192 that departed from KUL at 10.09pm bound for Bangalore has made an air turn back towards KUL. More details to follow,” tweeted @MAS at 12.39am on Monday.
