Singapore does not plan to emulate Malaysia's move to ban Pei Pa Koa cough syrup-flavoured food products.

The Singapore Food Agency told FMT, Pei Pa Koa is a herbal syrup grouped as a Chinese proprietary medicine and regulated by health authorities.

Nevertheless, the agency advised consumers to consume such products in moderation.

This comes after Malaysia's Health Ministry recently ordered ice cream shop Inside Scoop to halt sales of its Pei Pa Koa flavoured ice cream, and to take down all adverts of the product.
