James Chin: I will say something unpopular here: This will not damage PH or DSAI in the long term. Malaysian voters have very short memory. Eg, DAP and PAS were once allies, BN was in ruling coalition with PAS and PPBM just last year. Do voters remember? Majority don’t and they actually don’t care. Age of social media-you only remember what is the latest rage.
cyberduke Tan Wai Loon: I dare say that for Chinese, if asked to choose between living under PAS extreme Islamic rule or freeing Zahid, most of them will choose the later. Same goes to PN supporters. To preserve their Malay Supremacy way of life, they were willing to look past the Janawibawa corruption cases. I observe that at this phase of Malaysia politic, voters from both sides prioritise preserving their preferred way of life (multiculturalism vs Malay supremacy) over serving justice for corruption cases. Whether Zahid/Muhyddin/Wan Saiful go to jail or not, they do not affect their daily lifestyle. Letting the other side win will change their lifestyle or way of life.
