KUALA LUMPUR (July 8): The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) has denied a viral posting on social media that claimed the AGC had found former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s SRC International Sdn Bhd trial to be invalid.

“The news is absolutely untrue and false,” the AGC said in a statement on Friday (July 8), noting that the Federal Court had already fixed Aug 15 to hear Najib’s appeal against his conviction with the AGC appearing as the respondent.

“The AGC will proceed with the appeal in this case and will await the Federal Court’s decision,” said the statement.

The viral posting claimed that Attorney General Tan Sri Idrus Harun had described the SRC case as a mistrial and it was therefore deemed invalid.
