Cops: Air rifle used to smash banks’ glass panels

IPOH: Police here believe that an air rifle is the primary object used to break the glass panels and doors at four banks on Saturday.
Deputy Ipoh OCPD Supt Abdul Rani Alias said initial investigations showed that the damage to the broken glass was similar to that caused by a ball bearing that was shot from an air rifle.
“There were no major losses as only the glass panels and doors were broken.
“The automated teller and cash deposit machines are intact,” he said.
“There were also no signs of any attempts to break into the machines,” he added.

Glass panels at four Ipoh banks smashed
IPOH: Glass panels at automated teller machine rooms of four banks in different locations here were found shattered early Saturday.
Two of the banks were located in Gunung Rapat and one each in Jalan Yang Kalsom and Greentown.
A source said the four incidents, all believed to be related, took place between 1am and 6am.
