Mukhriz lauds supporters for paying own way to PPBM launch
SHAH ALAM, Jan 14 ― Supporters from all over the country used their own money to attend Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (PPBM) launch tonight and did not receive any sponsorship, its deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said.
Mukhriz noted that members arrived from as far as Perlis and Johor’s Pengerang, adding that the party leadership was excited to learn that they had come on buses, trains, cars and even motorcycle convoys.
“And all came without sponsorship, without any allocations from our leaders. All on their own initiative and expenditure,” he said at PPBM’s official launch here.
“Congratulations and well done, we say! This is the fighting spirit that we want from all our party members!” he added.
A rumour spread on social media today that PKR had instructed the mobilisation of its members for tonight’s launch with a token fee of RM100 each. PKR has since debunked the alleged letter from the PKR secretary-general’s office as false.

PKR denies paying members to bolster Bersatu’s official launch
PKR has denied issuing a circular instructing PKR members to pose as Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) members at Bersatu’s official launch tonight and promising payment.
“Please be informed there is a fake letter being circulated.
“The PKR secretary-general’s office had never issued such a letter,” said PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil.
The fake letter, issued using a PKR letterhead, urged party members to mobilise for Bersatu’s official launch at Stadium Malawati tonight.
It also asked for PKR in Selangor to send at least two busses of members with a promise of RM100 per person.

It also asked PKR members to wear red, Bersatu’s official colour.
The letter was issued in the name of PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, which misspelled his name as “Saifuddin Nasutton Ismail”.

Bersatu manifesto to ‘chase down every penny’ from 1MDB
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad has outlined the party’s manifesto for the next general election.
It includes recovering every penny that has allegedly been ever “stolen” from 1MDB and the government if they win, he said.
“We will investigate very thoroughly the 1MDB money which has been misappropriated.
“We will chase down every penny from 1MDB and the government which was (allegedly ) stolen, which we know are in the hands of certain individuals,” he said, to great applause from the 5,000-strong crowd at the party’s official launch in Shah Alam last night.
Earlier, when Mahathir asked rhetorically what their new government would do if they were to win the 14th general election and form a government, the attentive crowd immediately started chanting, “Tangkap Najib” (Arrest Najib).
