MIRI: The policeman who was knocked down by a car while manning traffic at a junction in Jalan Merbau yesterday has brushed off the incident as being “part of the job.”

Lance Corporal Nur Iman Ngarif , 24, described the incident as one of the hazards which comes along with his duties.

“It won’t deter my spirit in performing by job. It’s just one of the risks we face,” said Nur Iman.

MIRI: A traffic outrider escorting the Sukma secretariat was run over at the Jalan Merbau traffic light intersection around 6pm this evening.

The entourage was on their back from Miri Indoor Stadium heading back to their hotel in the city centre when the incident happened.

He had stopped in the middle of the intersection and was indicating other motorists to stop when he was hit by a mini MPV. The driver of the mini MPV is assisting authorities with investigations into the accident.

The traffic outrider was sent to Miri Hospital.
