Video shows elderly man beaten up, car stomped by mob

KUALA LUMPUR: A 76-year-old man was left severely traumatised when a group of men assaulted him and damaged his car yesterday.

In the 7.45pm incident, the senior citizen was driving slowly at a Ramadan bazaar in Jalan Masjid India here when a man on a motorcycle suddenly overtook his car.

City Criminal Investigation Department senior assistant commissioner Rusdi Mohd Isa said the victim then abruptly stepped on the brake, causing his car to hit the back side of the man’s motorcycle.

“Following the incident, the victim then rolled down the window to check on what happened. However, 10 men then appeared and started to hit him in the car.

“The men were also trying to break the car’s window, and stomped on the roof. The senior citizen was rescued by a trader there and the group of men immediately fled,” he said.
