KUALA LUMPUR: Police have launched an investigation into a fabricated media release, bearing the force’s logo, on demolition of Batu Caves Hindu temple.
The press statement, which resembled the police federal headquarters’ standard press release, stated that public members are prohibited from visiting the temple starting May 2.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar on his Twitter account said that action will be taken against the culprits.

IGP denies demolition of Batu Caves, fake statement investigated
PETALING JAYA: The police will investigate a fake press release being circulated on the demolition of Batu Caves purportedly approved by the government.
The PDRM letterhead claimed that the public is prohibited from entering the site from May 2.
