Woman suspected of dumping baby in washing machine arrested

ALOR SETAR: Police have arrested a 38-year-old woman who is believed to have dumped her newborn baby in the washing machine of a house in Kampung Ulu Dulang Kecil, Yan.

Yan District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Muhamad Halim Yatim when contacted said that the woman had admitted having given birth to the baby girl in the bathroom of the house.

She then left the baby in the washing machine.

The woman is being remanded in order for a DNA test to be carried out.

YAN: A padi farmer had a shock when he found a newborn baby girl inside a washing machine.

Zainol Hamid, 71, had been watching football on television at his house in Kampung Ulu Dulang here and had to use the bathroom.

“I went to the bathroom behind my room and suddenly, I heard a baby crying.”

“I checked around and traced the cry to the washing machine.

“When I looked into the tub of the washing machine, I saw the baby, with the umbilical cord still attached, inside.”

Zainol said someone could have entered his house through the back door, which was closed but not locked.

Newborn twins found dead in cupboard

GEORGE TOWN: Two baby girls were found dead on Monday at a complex in Macallum Street here some 24 hours after they were born.

The twins were wrapped in a towel and abandoned inside a cupboard at the stairway of the complex.

Police have yet to determine the nationality of the twins.

Baby boy found dead in shopping mall in Jalan Kepong

KUALA LUMPUR: A baby boy was found dead in a toilet of a shopping mall in Jalan Kepong, Thursday. Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy said the baby with complete features was found by a cleaner in the women’s toilet of Brem Mall at 3.15pm.

“We believe that the baby was born 36 hours ago and hidden in a canvas bag,” he said in a statement.

Teenager gives birth in toilet

BERA: A couple was stunned when their 16-year-old daughter gave birth to a baby boy in the toilet of their home in Felda Bandar 32 near here, early yesterday. Following the 5.45am incident, the teenage student’s father sent her to a clinic before lodging a report at the Bander 32 police station.

The student, together with the baby, were subsequently sent to the Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh.

Stomp 3 bodies of babies found in a week across Malaysia Posted on 18 September 2014 The bodies of three babies have been uncovered over different parts of Malaysia in the span of less than a week. In the latest incident, a body of a boy, believed to be less than two-weeks-old, was found in Taman Wilayah, Sentul on Monday (Sep 15) by several workers who were cutting the grass by the road shoulder, according to Sentul police chief ACP, R.Munusamy.

This grisly find comes in light of two other finds, a body of a baby boy uncovered in Tanjung Mersing, Johor at 9.30am on the same day and another body of a newborn baby girl found in an apartment in Rawang six days prior.

Body of baby boy dumped in drain

KUALA LUMPUR : A body of baby boy believed to be just weeks old was found dumped in a monsoon drain at Taman Wilayah on Monday. Several workers carrying out grass cutting by the road shoulder made the grisly find at about 10.30am.

Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy said the child whose umbilical cord was still intact though it was weeks old was clad in pink clothing. He said a comprehensive post mortem report is underway to determine the cause of death.

He urged those with information of the child’s parents to contact the Sentul CID. This is the second reported case of baby dumping this week.

Baby found dead in trash

MERSING: A baby with its umbilical cord still attached was found dead among a pile of trash at a dumping ground in Tanjung Merit Endau here. Mersing OCPD Deputy Supt Zulkepli Hashim said that police was alerted by members of the public after it was discovered at the site around 9.30am on Monday.

“An orang asli was scavenging through the pile of trash when he stumbled upon the baby’s body. “It was wrapped in newspaper and placed in a plastic bag before it was dumped there,” he said when contacted on Monday.
