Timmermans, who was being interviewed on the Dutch national broadcaster’s show Pauw, answered a comment from host Jeroen Pauw that the final moments aboard Flight MH17 were not as suggested during Timmerman’s speech at the UN Security Council in the week after the atrocity.
“No, they did not see the missile coming, but did you know that someone was found with an oxygen mask over his mouth? So someone had the time to do that,” Timmermans said, dismissing Pauw’s question.
Timmermans added that there was no evidence to conclude that the final moments could not have been as he said in his UN speech.
Timmermans suggested that passengers had remained conscious after the airliner was struck by a suspected missile during his UN speech on July 21.
Experts later said everyone on board was likely killed immediately or, if not, became unconscious within seconds.
“I’ve been thinking how horrible the final moments of their lives must have been, when they knew the plane was going down,” Timmermans said during his speech at the UN.
“Did they lock hands with their loved ones, did they hold their children close to their hearts, did they look each other in the eyes, one final time, in a wordless goodbye? We will never know.”

The body of one of the passengers on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was found wearing an oxygen mask, it has emerged.
The revelation raises questions about how much those on board knew about their fate when the plane plunged out of the sky above Eastern Ukraine in July.
The passenger, an Australian, did not have the mask on his face, but its elastic strap was around his neck, said Wim de Bruin, a spokesman for the Dutch National Prosecutor’s Office which is carrying out a criminal investigation into the air disaster.
De Bruin said Dutch forensic experts investigated the mask “for fingerprints, saliva and DNA and that did not produce any results. So it is not known how or when that mask got around the neck of the victim.”
De Bruin said no other bodies recovered from the wreckage were found wearing masks. He added he did not know where in the plane the Australian victim was sitting.

DONETSK, Ukraine – Two Ukrainian military fighter jets were reportedly shot down over the nation’s contested eastern region on Wednesday, even as U.S. and Ukrainian sources said Russian weaponry has been pouring in to separatists following the downing of a Malaysian passenger plane last week.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said two Sukhoi-25 fighters were shot down Wednesday afternoon over an area called Savur Mogila. The planes may have been carrying up to two crew members each, according to Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksiy Dmitrashkovsky.
The pilots ejected from the planes but it is not known if they survived, Fox News confirms. A search party is out looking for them.
Reuters reported that Kiev blamed the latest incident on pro-Russian separatists, who are suspected of downing Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 last Thursday, killing all 298 aboard. Although Russia has denied supplying the ethnic Russian separatists with sophisticated Buk surface-to-air missile batteries, the kind suspected of bringing down MH-17, Ukrainian defense officials say heavy weaponry is flowing into the Donetsk region that the separatists now control.
More than a dozen Russian-made multiple launch rocket systems crossed the Ukrainian-Russian border on Tuesday, according to Andriy Lysenko, the spokesman for the information center of the National Security and Defense Council. Those weapons are artillery, and built for shelling land-based targets.
The spokesman said that Russia in recent days had started supplying more sophisticated weapons to militants in eastern Ukraine, in particular, modified Grad systems.

MH17 lost speed, altitude & veered 14km off course before being tailed by Ukrainian fighter jet – Russians blame CIA
Moscow – Russia said its flight records show a Ukrainian fighter jet was flying close to the Malaysian passenger airliner just before it crashed and that Kiev was operating radar stations used for missile systems.
Separately, a Russian television program has claimed that the US Central Intelligence Agency was behind the downing of the commercial jet liner.
Moscow also denied supplying Ukrainian separatists with Buk missile systems or any other weapons, as it sought to head off international accusations it was responsible for the downing of the Malaysian plane with 298 people on board.
Armed with a number of slides, charts and images, two high-ranking officials of Russia’s General Staff laid out a case against Ukraine at a specially called briefing.
Lieutenant-General Andrei Kartopolov said the Malaysian plane strayed north of its planned route, adding that a Ukrainian SU-25 fighter jet, which is typically equipped with air-to-air missiles, had been recorded in the proximity of the Boeing 777.

“An altitude gain was recorded for a Ukrainian armed forces plane,” he told the briefing. “Its distance from the Malaysian Boeing was three to five kilometres,” he said, noting that the SU-25 is capable of reaching a height of 10,000 metres “for a brief time.”
“With what aim was a military plane flying along a civilian aviation route practically at the same time and at the same flight level as a passenger liner?” said General Kartopolov. “We would like to receive an answer to this question.”
He also said that the Russian defence ministry detected unusual activity from radar stations that are used to operate missile systems on the day of the tragedy.
“From July 17 (Thursday) the intensity of the operation of Ukrainian radar stations increased to the maximum,” said General Kartopolov.

General Kartopolov insisted Russia had not supplied Ukrainian separatists with Buk missile systems or any other weapons.

The general’s explanation comes as US network NBC reported that a Russian broadcaster pinned the blame for the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 on the Central Intelligence Agency.
The report, on Russia’s Channel One, claimed the United States had planned to do the same thing during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis – an event that brought the US and Russia close to nuclear war.

MH17 crash: Malaysia receives black boxes from Ukrainian rebels
DONETSK: Malaysian officials have received the two MH17 black boxes from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on Tuesday in Ukraine.
At 1am this morning, DPR showed up at their government headquarters here, leading with them Malaysian government representatives.
Speaking to the press, DPR Prime Minister Alexander Borodai thanked Malaysia and the Netherlands for sending teams here on Monday to resolve the MH17 matter.

‘Tapped calls prove rebels plotted to hide black box’
Ukrainian intelligence services have released another set of intercepted phone conversations, claiming it to be rebel leaders plotting to hide MH17’s black box.
The two-minute tape was released by the Security Services of Ukraine (SBU) yesterday, and purportedly comprised three phone conversations between rebel leader Khodakovskyi Oleksandr Serhiyovych and two separatist rescue workers identified only as Oleksiy and Andriy.
“I have a request for you,” Khodakovskyi supposedly told Andriy in the second phone call at 6.10pm (11.10pm Malaysian time).
“Our friends from high above are very much interested in the fate of the black boxes. I mean people from Moscow. There are two items – Khmuryi, Strelok’s head of intelligence, has one.
“Please, cooperate with the Ministry of Emergency. All that you find must not come into somebody else’s hands,” he continued.

Air India flight was only 90 seconds from MH17
MUMBAI: An Air India Dreamliner flight going from Delhi to Birmingham was in fact less than 25km away from the Malaysian aircraft, a distance covered by a Dreamliner or Boeing 777 in about 90 seconds, when the latter was hit.

The Times of India reported that minutes before the crash caused by a missile strike, the AI pilots had also heard the controller give the Malaysian aircraft MH17 what is called “a direct routing”.
This permits an aircraft to fly straight, instead of tracking the regular route which is generally a zig-zag track that goes from one ground-based navigation aid or way point to another. “Direct routing saves fuel and time and is preferred by pilots. In this case, it proved fatal,” said an airline source.
“The AI Dreamliner was less than 25km away from the Malaysian aircraft when the latter was hit by a missile. When the pilots learnt the cause of the crash later, they were stunned. It’s like the person standing next to you has been hit by a sniper bullet,” said the source.

Rebel leader make bizarre claim
“Many victims may have been already dead before the plane took off,” says rebel leader
PETALING JAYA: A top pro-Russia separatist leader, who is fingered by western news organisation as supected of giving orders to fire a missile to bring down MH17, has made a bizarre claimed that many victims may have been already dead before the plane took off from Amsterdam.
Rebel leader Igor Girkin is reported as having said that he was told by people at the crash site that “a significant number of the bodies weren’t fresh”.
He is quoted as having said in a post on social networking site Vkontakte, the second largest social network service in Europe after Facebook, that the bodies were drained of blood and reeked of decomposition.
Girkin, an alleged former Russian military intelligence agent, however, said he could not confirm the information.

Did this man fire the missile at MH17?
The prime suspect behind the MH17 tragedy is the self-proclaimed defence minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Igor Girkin.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the former intelligence officer is known by the name Strelkov – or “shooter” and has even shot his own troops for insubordination.
The spotlight fell on Girkin after he reportedly posted a message on a Russian social media page, which read: “We did warn you – do not fly in our sky.”
The post was later removed when it became clear that the plane was a civilian aircraft and not a Ukranian military plane.
The Sydney Morning Herald pointed out that “no amateur can bring down a passenger jet streaking across the sky.”
“Don’t be lulled into believing any trooper with a rocket-propelled grenade launcher on his shoulder could carry out this attack.
“The professionalism required points to Girkin and his Russian-backed separatists as the most likely suspects.

Dozens of bodies and broken pieces of wing with MH17 colors have been found near the town of Grabovo, according to a Reuters correspondent.
Dozens of bodies were scattered around the smouldering wreckage of a passenger jet that crashed in eastern Ukraine on Thursday, a Reuters reporter said.
An emergency services rescue worker said at least 100 bodies had so far been found at the scene, near the village of Grabovo, and that debris from the wreckage was scattered across an area up to about 15km (nine miles) in diameter.
Broken pieces of the wings were marked with blue and red paint – the same colours as the emblem of the Malaysian airline which lost track of a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that was carrying almost 300 people.

The Interfax report said the plane came down 50km short of entering Russian airspace.
It “began to drop, afterwards it was found burning on the ground on Ukrainian territory,” the unnamed source said.
The plane appeared to have come down in a region of military action where Ukrainian government forces are battling pro-Russian separatists.
A separate unnamed source in the Ukrainian security apparatus, quoted by Interfax, said the plane disappeared from radar at a height of 10,000 metres after which it came down near the town of Shakhtyorsk, reported Reuters.

BREAKING NEWS: Malaysia Airlines passenger plane crashes in Ukraine

A MALAYSIAN Airlines passenger plane with 295 people has crashed in Ukraine today.
The Boeing 777 went down near the Russian border according to an aviation industry source.
It is not clear what caused the flight MH17 to crash or if there have been any fatalities.
According to Interfax the plane was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
