Corruption-free nation, free and fair elections and equal rights top the list of what Malaysians want from the government.

Tell us what you want, asks Umno man
Cheras Umno division chief Syed Ali Alhabshee reaches out to Chinese in the hope of working with the community to build the nation.
KUALA LUMPUR: An Umno leader has reached out to the Chinese community in the hope of working together for the betterment of the country.
Cheras division chief Syed Ali Alhabshee has expressed perplexity as to why Chinese support for the government has dwindled despite ongoing efforts by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak to uplift the community.
“Najib has done a lot for the Chinese. He has given them a lot and tried to build up their support but unfortunately they didn’t support him during the general election,” Syed Ali told FMT in an exclusive interview here.
He urged the community to communicate and air their grouses to the ruling Barisan Nasional as the government was sincere in assisting the Chinese community.
“If you can’t work together with (BN Chinese-based parties) MCA and Gerakan, then tell us (what we should do) so that we can do something about it,” he said.
“Then we can work together to build up the country,” he added.
