A policeman pleaded not guilty to six charges in the magistrate’s court in Seremban today before three different magistrates.

In the court before magistrate Mohamad Izwan Mohamed Noh, Inspector Mohd Azuan Yasin, 32, was charged with two counts for voluntarily causing grievous hurt and committing criminal intimidation on one Mohamaed Nadzeem Zainal Larifin, 25, with a black object which looked like a pistol at about 2.50am at the lobby of Hotel S2 here last July 17.

He was also charged with committing the similar offences on one Koh Wen Gio, 32, also using a similar black object, at the same place and time before magistrate Haslina Basarudin.

Mohd Azuan was also charged before Mohamad Izwan with committing mischief by smashing the windscreen of car belonging to one Tan Chee Luan, 25, at a coffee shop in Temiang at about 5.45am on the same day.

He was also brought before magistrate S Megaswary and was charged with another count of committing mischief by ripping the door of a car belonging to one Tan Chee Hold at the same time and place.

Mohd Azuan was allowed bail of RM4,500 for all the charges, with one surety for each charge, and all the cases were fixed for mention on Sept 13.

AMOK OR DRUNK: Police must come clean on renegade inspector – MCA

Written by  Wee Ka Siong

The Royal Malaysian Police have to be impartial and prompt in their investigation concerning the issue in Seremban whereby a police officer was caught on camera pistol whipping a hotel employee.

The police force should investigate the incident with a high degree of justice, responsibility and transparency in order to give an explanation to the public

It was allegedly reported that the said police officer had drunkenly attacked a hotel employee after an argument by hitting him repeatedly with his pistol and had later on vandalized several cars. The police officer has now been arrested and is under investigation.

What if he had opened fire?

The CCTV footage of the police officer hitting a civilian is outrageous, and I shudder to think of the consequences should the police officer had decided to open fire with his pistol instead of using it as a hammer to hit others.

It is the responsibility of the police to maintain social order and to protect lives and ensure the safety of property. In performing their duties they are granted the right to bear arms, but in doing so they must be extremely discipline and be of professional conduct. Certainly they must be expected to acquire higher standards than that of the ordinary layman.

Such actions by the said officer have shown that he is a threat to public safety and this is intolerable. Should the police not provide a clear explanation to the public, their credibility will undoubtedly suffer a severe and crucial blow.

Police inspector arrested after running amok: HOW COME he wasn’t shot like the Putrajaya amok

Written by  Maria Begum, Malaysia Chronicle

A 32-year-old police inspector was arrested after he ran amok at a two-star hotel here, injuring two hotel employees and damaging several cars in Seremban 2.

He was luckier than Khalil Afandi, who was shot and killed by police last week after he ran amok together with a woman accomplice outside the Prime Minister’s Office complex in Putrajaya.

The difference in treatment is bound to raise eyebrows.

Attacked hotel staff, vandalized cars

According to the NST, during the 2.50am incident on Monday, the officer was said to had gone to the hotel and booked a room before  running amok hours later.

It was learnt that he had attacked the hotel staff due to an argument. He allegedly dashed outside and vandalised several parked cars along the road.

The two hotel employees were admitted to Tunku Jaafar  hospital. One of the victims suffered injuries to the back of his  ears while the other suffered minor injuries to his face. The two, however, had since returned home.
